Speyside High School is delighted that the work of our Listen Well Awards pupils has been recognised in Parliament  through a motion lodged on 25 January by Richard Lochhead MSP. Well done to everyone involved!

That the Parliament congratulates Speyside High School in Moray on winning the Listening Challenge and gaining Listen Well Awards; understands that the Listening Challenge is the final component for participating young people to gain their Listen Well Award; notes that the pupils were challenged to work in teams to create promotional material to raise awareness of the benefits of listening for health and wellbeing among young people; understands that Maureen Wilson, Executive Coordinator of Listen Well Scotland, delivered two days of training to the pupils before setting the challenge; acknowledges that Speyside High School created what it considers is a powerful promotional video, designed T-shirts and initiated a breakfast for the awards, and won the challenge by unanimous decision; recognises the importance of listening well to the health and wellbeing of people of all ages and considers this vital training for young people; commends the pupils of Speyside High School and their Principal Teacher of Guidance, Amy MacInnes, who assisted the pupils on their project, and wishes all involved further success in promoting this vital aspect of health and wellbeing.
