GERMAN VISITORS

On Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th of this week, we had a group of 50 pupils and staff from the Frankenwald Gymnasium school in Kronach in Germany following pupils’ timetables to experience a typical Scottish school day.  The visitors experienced a range of subjects across the school and were provided with lunch in the canteen.  On Tuesday afternoon, Thomas Cattanach in S5, led the group on a walk around Aberlour, while the sun shone, showing off Speyside at its best.  The visitors had a great couple of days and our pupils who helped them were a credit to Speyside High School.

PUBLIC SPEAKING

On the evening of Tuesday 19 September, the Senior Public Speaking Team of Rory Horsburgh, Renée Dumenil and Mairi Weir attended Meldrum Academy for the NOSS first round competition.  The team performed extremely well and were a credit to the school.  Two teams out of the six went through to the final in March and although we didn’t make the final, we had a great evening.

STEM Science Demonstration

A huge thank you to Thomas Wild of Aberdeen Science Centre who presented a very informative talk and demonstration to all S1 pupils on Friday 22 September.
