Sporting Achievements

From a young age Ben has been passionate about playing sports. He started playing football at the age of 3, and at 5 years old played locally for Aberlour Juniors and Dufftown FC. Winning 'Player of the Tournament' trophies at both the Walkers Tournament in 2010 and Fochabers Tournament in 2011.

Ben was scouted and invited to join Ross County Children's Academy at the age of 8 and went on to win a number of regional tournaments at 5 and 7-a-side. In 2014 he won the Orkney 7s Tournament. He signed for Ross County Youth Academy at the age of 12 and is now part of the u14s youth squad playing in the Club Academy Scotland programme. Last year Ben travelled to Spain with the squad to play in the Costa Duarada Cup tournament, progressing through the group stages and reaching the semi-finals. Ben is committed to football and has aspirations to play professionally in the future.

In addition to football, Ben represented Craigellachie Primary in a number of sports. He represented the school playing Kwik Cricket, achieving selection for the elite Moray squad, and Badminton, achieving silver medals for both singles and doubles. Ben has also been a member of Rothes Tennis Club for five years and has represented the club across the region winning various medals and a trophy for his winning doubles performance in 2014.

More recently Ben is developing his table tennis skills at Elgin Academy, inspired by his coach, and ex-Commonwealth Champion, Stephen Gersten. He is hoping to enter competitions in the future.
