S4 GUIDANCE PARENTS’ EVENINGS

As part of ensuring positive pathways for our young people, parents of S4 pupils are invited to attend a 10 minute appointment with their child’s Guidance Teacher to discuss course options for S5. Letters have been issued to all S4 parents.  Parents have the option of attending on Tuesday 13 or Wednesday 14 February or alternatively requesting a phone consultation.

AUTHOR VISIT

We were delighted to welcome author Alex McCall on Monday 29 January.  Alex conducted a workshop with S1s, talked about his book Attack of the Giant Robot Chickens and taught pupils how to create characters and plots.  The visit was organised by the Library and funded by the Scottish Book Trust.

 

Listen Well Awards / Motion in Parliament

Speyside High School is delighted that the work of our Listen Well Awards pupils has been recognised in Parliament  through a motion lodged on 25 January by Richard Lochhead MSP. Well done to everyone involved!

PRELIMS

The Senior Phase Prelim Diet starts on Monday 15 January and continues for three weeks.  Pupils have received personalised timetables and have been briefed on arrangements.  In the event of adverse weather over the next three weeks, if we are unable to run some buses, Prelims will be rearranged.

 

S1 RESPECT ASSEMBLY

Named Person Service during the holiday

As part of the Getting It Right For Every Child approach each child or young person is allocated a Named Person. Although, most children will receive all the support they need from their own families and community, we have a legal obligation to make available an identified Named Person for every child and young person in our care.
