PASS IT ON AT SPEYSIDE

This week we welcomed P7 pupils from Craigellachie and Mortlach Primary Schools to Home Economics as part of our Food For Thought project.  As a group, we received nearly £5000 from Education Scotland through their Food For Thought grants.

WELCOME BACK

Welcome back to all in the SHS community, I hope everyone had a good holiday.  We are starting our term with assemblies to launch our Vision: Happy, Healthy, High Achieving; and our six values which are Healthy, Responsible, Dedicated, Ambitious, Respect and Achieving.

Next weeks’ assemblies will be about Literacy and Numeracy.

This week also sees Education Scotland visiting our Home

Named Person Service during the holiday

As part of the Getting It Right For Every Child approach each child or young person is allocated a Named Person. Although, most children will receive all the support they need from their own families and community, we have a legal obligation to make available an identified Named Person for every child and young person in our care.

EUROPEAN DAY OF LANGUAGES

European Day of Languages was celebrated last week across the school with a Euro Quiz in S1 and S2 classes, build an Eiffel Tower engineering project, European menu in the canteen and an S1 poster competition.  Well done to all of our winners – photos can be seen on the Modern Languages Twitter page - @Speyside_MFL.

Goodall Cup

Well done to all pupils who took part in the Goodall Cup Inter-House football tournament on Monday 2nd October. Great to see so many happy, health and high achieving young people enjoying physical activity outdoors!  Many thanks to the Senior Sports Leader class for organising the tournament itself.  Results are as follows:

 

1st: Fiddich – 72 points

2nd: Livet – 57 points

3rd: Rinnes – 48 points
