RIGHTS RESPECTING SCHOOL GROUP: (Article 29 Goals of Education)

Education must develop every child’s personality, talents and abilities to the full.  It must encourage the child’s respect for human rights, as well as respect for their parents, their own and other cultures, and the environment.

Part of the SHS charter and central to our school values, is the fact that we want our whole school community to be high achieving and respectful.

Swimming Success

Congratulations to Georgia Officer, Georgie Newlands, Janey Morton and Karra Laing who took part in the Moray Schools Swimming Trails last week. The girls all swam tremendously well with all of them getting a medal and personal best (PB) times.

The Group would like to thank all members of the School Community who helped make their anagram quiz a huge success.  Over 100 quizzes were sold and entries were received from as far away as Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Connel Laing recently went through an application process to be one of 16 young people in Scotland to work on a project with Young Scot and Scottish Natural Heritage.

St Andrews University Pilot Scheme

Speyside High has agreed to pilot a web portal that supports students to find appropriate degree courses. S5 and S6 pupils will be given a code that will allow them to access the portal anonymously. They will then have to complete an online questionnaire that will take approximately 20 minutes.
