Chicken Pox, Shingles and Measles

Please may we ask for your co-operation in an important matter.


One of our pupils recently received a bone marrow transplant which puts them at risk if they are exposed to chicken pox, shingles or measles.  They can be protected from the risk but the protection lasts only a few weeks and must be repeated every time they come into contact with these illnesses.

Michael Laing is going to be a batonbearer!

 We are delighted to advise you that their application to be a batonbearer representing Speyside High School in Moray on the Queen’s Baton Relay (QBR) for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games has been successful.


They will have the honour of carrying the Queen’s Baton as it travels the length and breadth of Scotland on the way to its final destination at the Opening Ceremony of the Glasgow 2014

Revision in a Nutshell - Revision Guides for Learners

The National Parent Forum of Scotland has prepared a series of revision support materials for learners who are about to sit the new National 5 Qualifications. The Revision in a Nutshell subject guides are designed to complement learning and revision in the classroom by:



  • sharing the revision material that is available so that young people can easily access key documents and interesting websites

Senior Phase Subject Choice

Course choice forms should by now have been completed and handed in to Guidance teachers (or to Mr Picksley if you are in Livet House). Pupils who are yet to hand in a form must do so before the Easter holidays or it will be assumed that you are leaving school and there will no chance of getting into a class if it is over-subscribed.
