Shakespeare Workshop

On Monday, a group of S4 English pupils had a wonderful introduction to Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” in a workshop led by John Binnie.  John is a freelance director and playwright and it was a really interesting and enjoyable session.  John Binnie’s visit to Speyside was joint funded by Creative Scotland’s Live Literature programme, managed by the Scottish Book Trust.

Sponsored Walk

The annual whole school sponsored walk will take place on Wednesday 25 September (with a reserve date of Thursday 26 September).  All Speyside pupils will be issued with sponsor forms, permission forms and information letters to take home.

Bring Your Parents (And Their Parents) To School Day

Bring Your Parents (and their parents) to School Day – on Wednesday 2 October we are inviting all S1 parents back to school for one day!  Letters will be coming home with S1 pupils this week with more information.  We are very excited about offering this opportunity to experience Curriculum for Excellence first hand and to remind you of what a school day feels like!

Orienteering

The next round of the Moray Schools’ League takes place at Buckie High School on Saturday.  We welcome new orienteers to join our school team (no previous experience necessary).  It may be possible to provide transport.

Speakers Club

All years are welcome at the Speakers Club which is held in Room 3 on a Monday from 1.00pm.  Word and speaking games help build confidence for all speaking in public, so come along and have a go!
